Regarding the Prohibition of Working in the Sun.
Dear Member,
According to Official Gazette No. 145, published on August 5, 2026, the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, taking into account the temperature forecasts of the TRNC Meteorological Department and the risks posed by working in high temperatures within the scope of Occupational Health and Safety, has prohibited working outdoors (under the sun) between 12:00 and 16:00 every day from August 5, 2026 to August 15, 2026 (inclusive of both dates).
The decision also states that employers in the agricultural and construction sectors operating outside residential areas may adjust work start times to earlier hours; this includes the possibility of implementing early start times for the transportation of aggregates, ready-mixed concrete, other construction materials, and machinery to construction sites.
